Public Affairs Office
The Public Affairs Office of the United States Consulate General in Casablanca serves as a focal point for cultural, press and educational relations between the United States and Morocco. It advises the U.S. Mission to Morocco on issues of public diplomacy and promotes mutual understanding and cooperation between the people of the United States and the people of Morocco.
The Pubic Affairs Office, which is located in Dar America , also houses the consulate's Information Resource Center or library, a leading source in Morocco for accurate and authoritative information about the U.S.
The PAS, located at Dar America in Quartier Gauthier, maintains the information Resource Center (IRC) to support information from Moroccan audiences. Using state of the art technology, including CD-ROMs and on-line databases, the IRC provides updated information about the United States to Moroccan government officials, academics and journalists.
The PAS provides educational and cultural services and works closely with the Moroccan American Commission for Education and Cultural Exchanges (MACECE). It also works closely with other sections of the U.S. Mission and many Moroccan organizations to encourage and broaden understanding of the United States and its relationship with Morocco. It also sponsors seminars, exhibits, speakers, and other programs in which Moroccans and Americans can share ideas and information on a wide variety of issues.
