Public Affairs Section

The Public Affairs Section manages the Consulate's Educational and Cultural programs. It works closely with Moroccan institutions in organizing exchanges, workshops, lectures, and presentations by U.S. academics, specialists, writers and artists.

• International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP): The aim of the International Visitor Program is to increase mutual understnding through communication at the personal and professional level. The program brings participants to the United Ststes form all over the World to meet and confer with their profesional counterparts and to experience the U.S. firsthand. The IVLP includes individual and group projects. Individual Projects are tailored for the visitor's professional interests. Group Projects are designed before the visitors arrive in the United States and focus on the common professional interests of the group. Whenever a group travels throughout the United States, it is accompanied by professional escort-interpreters. • Fulbright Fellowship Program: Established by the U.S. Congress in 1946, this program has as its goal mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and the people of other countries through academic study and research. Named for the late Senator J. William Fulbright, this program is the foremost U.S. educational exchange program. Grants range from six to nine months and are awarded on the basis of merit to individuals in a variety of fields. Past awards have been in the field of medicine, business, science, engineering, education, architecture and the arts. • The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program: This program brings accomplished mid-career professionals from foreign countries to the United States for a year of study and related professional development. Participants can study in a number of fields, including: public policy and public administration, human resource management, educational planning, urban and regional planning, environmental studies, economic development, technology policy and management, agricultural policy and economics, and public health management.

• The Salzburg Seminar: The seminar was founded in 1947 and has evolved into an internationally recognized center in Salzburg, Austria. It brings together noted thinkers and scholars and promising mid-career professionals from throughout the world for intensive, week-long seminars on major social, economic and political issues. The primary purpose of the Seminar is to foster the exchange of ideas and experiences, and to develop networks among professionals around the world.

• The Eisenhower Exchange Fellowship: This program is administered by a private, non-profit organization created to promote international understanding through the exchange of information, ideas and perspectives among emerging young leaders throughout the world. Eisenhower Fellows are invited to spend two months in the United States pursuing an individualized program of visits and consultations with leading professionals in their fields.For more information on the Eisenhower Exchange Fellowship, pelase click on the MACECE link to the right of this page.
